About This Module

Find your public IP address along with your approximate city, region, country, and ISP information. This free, browser-based network tool delivers instant results with a single click — no account, installation, or technical knowledge required.

What Is My IP Address?

My IP Address is a network utility that detects and displays your public-facing Internet Protocol address along with basic geolocation data. Your public IP is the address that websites and online services see when you connect to the internet, and it differs from the private IP assigned by your local router. This tool queries a trusted IP geolocation service to retrieve your IP, approximate city, region, country, and Internet Service Provider. It is useful for verifying VPN connections, troubleshooting network issues, or simply knowing what information your connection reveals to the web.

How It Works

The tool automatically fetches your public IP information when the page loads — no input is required. Your public IP address, city, region, country, and ISP appear in a clear table layout. Click "Refresh IP Info" to re-query the geolocation service, which is helpful if you have switched networks, toggled a VPN, or want to verify a connection change. All data comes from the ipapi.co API and is displayed without being stored or logged anywhere on this site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a public IP and a private IP address?

A private IP address is assigned by your local router to devices within your home or office network. Devices on the same network can communicate with each other using private IPs (typically in ranges like 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x), but these addresses are not visible to the outside internet. A public IP is the single address your router presents to the internet on behalf of all devices in your network. This is the address that websites, servers, and online services record when you connect to them, and it is what this tool displays.

Why does the city or region shown not match my actual location?

IP geolocation is an approximation, not a GPS reading. The displayed city and region are determined by the registered location of the IP address block assigned to your Internet Service Provider, not your physical device location. ISPs often allocate IP blocks from regional data centers that may be in a different city or state than where you are actually located. VPN connections further shift the displayed location to wherever the VPN server is based. Accuracy for the country field is generally high (95%+), but city-level accuracy varies widely by provider and geography.

Does this tool store or log my IP address?

No. This page displays your IP information in your browser using a third-party geolocation API (ipapi.co). The result is shown on screen and is not stored, logged, or transmitted to any AskEinvoice.com/Tools server. The geolocation API provider may log requests according to their own privacy policy, but AskEinvoice.com/Tools does not retain any record of which IP addresses have visited this page or what results were returned.
